Like you said, it is very hard to pin point exactly which one you have unless you know it’s origin. Some species almost looks the same with very slight differences between the coloration, patterns, size, shape, etc.
I just won a battle with hair algae in my 75 gallon planted tank. What I did was dosed it with hydrogen peroxide. (I’m not sure if that’s advisable, just saying what I did) About 1/4 of a cup. It pretty much cleared up after 48 hours. There’s still a tad bit left but not as bad as before I dosed...
The last pic reminds me of eagle eyes zoa. It's a pretty small polyp and looks a little bleached out, hence the white coloration. Zoas can morph colors based on the lighting. Same goes with palys as well. I once bought a colony of white palys that I thought were cool. Later on, I realized that...

Do you have a ground probe in the tank? It's a must have (at least in my tanks) since it does prevent stray voltage from your equipments. Hence stops the electrocution. They're not that pricey either. Just my thought
