Ok.. a run down of my tanks and fish.. you'll notice i'm a strong believer of over filtration, especially with big messy fish. All tanks receive a 50% WC on Saturdays. Most of my fish have big teeth.. and yes they will bite if given the chance :D. I also have tons of more pics so if your interested in any specific fish just let me know and I'll post more on here.

Dovii Grow Out tank..
120g (48x24x24) with dual overflows, Durso 1.25" Stand Pipes, a 29g sump, Pondmaster 2400gph pump and about 120 pot scrubbies for bio filtration. Mechanical filtration is two layers of filter floss. Pool Filter sand as substrate, fake plants and driftwood found at local lake.

1x F1 Male Dovii - 7" (yes he's a glass banger as you'll see in the pic)

most of those fish look like you would need a chain mail glove to stick your hand into the tank lol.

way cool setups....and what do you breed in the breeder tanks?

haha.. I had my LFS order it for me but it took quite a while for them to get him in. I do not know a breeder but keep checking Aquabid as they appear on there quite frequently. I've had it about 4 months I guess, so it's still relatively new to me. I told him to order me one about 6" but he ordered this guy instead.. needless to say I was not going to turn it down ;)

Yes I hand feed it, it will only eat nightcrawlers though. Some are just really really picky.

Here are a couple more pics of it.

The only thing I breed are the convict fry for feeders. The actual breeder tanks are just a really good footprint for bottom dwellers so I opted for that tank size.

wow....very cool. i saw a vid on youtube a week ago. it was of this girls rememberance of her fire eel that died. it was like five mins long and showed her hand feeding it and playin with it.

it totally made me think of a dog in an aquarium. i fell in love lol

keepem in good health

Well I lost my fire eel.. he managed to move the lid even with a 3lb weight on top of it. Came home a few days ago to him laying dried out under my desk. :(

wow, thats insane. if you decide to get one shoot me an email. ive been tryin to find one but the lfs's in my area either cant get them or tell me the vendors are medicating them.

I was thinking about getting like 1 biggish predator fish in my 55 or 60 gallon.

What are some that you would suggest?
An oscar. Some people wont keep them in any thing smaller than a 70g but other people say that a 55g should be their minnum. And oscars are pretty big an feirce. Or maybe a Jack dempsy

No oscars thank you, I think they are ugly as adults :D. I was thinking maybe a eletric blue Jack, those guys are beautiful when young and adults.

Definitely not an Oscar, they get to big for a 55g.

Are you looking for an oddball or a cichlid?

I would suggest a Red Wolf and a Senegal Bichir for a 55g. Both are predatory and actively swim around.
