    Crypts potted or planted?

I would add more sand and plant your plants, so you can add root caps. My crypts are doing great I’m straight sand with Thrive root caps, I do add Thrive liquid as well for my stem plants

    Julii cories eggs

I think since you want to breed it’s important to know what species you own, so you can optimize conditions for that particular species. Cories often eat their own eggs as well as other fish. I grow some dense mats of java fern and susswasertag in my 55g I assume that helps my fry to hide...

A lot of the seeds sold are complete fakes. Unless it is a reputable seller. I hope yours are real

    Julii cories eggs

FYI those of you with Julii cats almost certainly have Corydoras trilineatus 3 Lined Cory. C. julii are quite rare in most areas. But they are sold as julii since they look similiar. True julii have very fine spots, not reticulated lines and their nose is very rounded...

Convict cichlid and tiger barbs problem

Tiger Barbs do best in at least 30g and the larger the group the better. 20 Tiger Barbs in a 55g look great. Convicts ? They are cute babies and very hardy. BUT the minute you have opposite sexes they will pair up, attempt to attack the rest of the tank and have babies. The first time it’s...

How to tell which *old* lights will grow plants and which won't

A PAR meter will tell you how much light is reaching the bottom if the tank has water in it. A LUXE meter will read dry lights I believe ?? Just adjust distance to read where bottom of tank would be. If the bulbs are old, swap them out, I try to swap my T5HOs out at least yearly. You can...

    Roseline Shark loosing color/scales

29g is very small for Roselines. I have a 55g and even that is the minimum I’d use. They need plenty of flow and very clean water. Mine like to hang out under the outflow. Tons of plants and a black background and covered sides as they are very nervous fish. 1 died suddenly and I believe...
