    Fish are food, not friends?!

Oh yeah , I fish a lot! 99% of what I do is catch and release , I do occasionally keep a trout or maybe some good saltwater eating fish but only what I am sure will not go to waste. The kayak always has a rod and reel on board since you never know where you might run into a golden opertunity...

    DIY Fishtank

petco dollar per gallon sale is hard to beat. I doubt you could buy materials for what it would cost you to buy one. If it was me I would look into that before I jumped into trying to build my own. Just something you might want to consider

    Sump

This could be like a ford vs. Chevy discussion. I have eheim's on my freshwater and a fluval on saltwater and both do what they are supposed to. Many others out there including Sun-Sun that might be a less expensive option. I did find that the fluval with media baskets is easier to service than...

    Sump

I have a canister and HOB protein skimmer not to mention heater in the tank. In my situation a sump is not an option but really wish I could have one. Looking into another setup in the future there is no other choice than having a sump. Can you do it without? Sure can. Is it the best option...

    Water change made easy

That's what I need to do for my DIRO water , don't want to tell you how many times I turned it on and forgot to set a timer and overflowed my jugs. Thankfully it is only in the basement so no damage but a real pain in the backside to clean up.

Need help in selecting a pump for my water change system

Got it Jim , hard plumbed into the system from what I see there. I have what they refer to as a utility pump I was going to use for my saltwater , when I get a few minutes I will check the rating on it. As far as noise that doesn't bother me since it is in the basement and I will only use it to...

    I.D. these fry

If you got 100 guppies even though I am not a betting man and those odds I would guess guppy. 100 that's a lot, how big of a setup do you have? That could produce a lot more fish than the 100 you have now.

    Freshwater flounder

Consider pool filter sand instead of play sand , not quite as fine as typical play sand for a sandbox.

    HELP unlevel aquarium

Is it on ground level with a solid floor , like concrete? If it is on an upper floor you might want to consider a jacking post under it on the lower floor. My 90 gallon is in my kitchen and I put a post under it ans supported it from below with the thought of preventing it from sagging over...
