Right on.
I've been checking since my last post on just about everything I could find.
I didn't see the Australe specifically, but other killi's needed cooler water and my cube is a constant 78 with no heater.
The guppies and platys both recommend higher GH levels than the Oto's and Tetras and...
Theresa, thanks for the quick feedback. I hope my banana survives only because it looks so silly.
As for the barbs, you are right, I overlooked it, but liveaquaria recommends groups of 6 or more...
With the stocking calculator increasing to 6 barbs with 2 oto's and 10 tetras puts me at 98%...
Two things:
1) I can't upload any pictures, and it appears this is an ongoing issue since last month...
2) I forgot to mention that my lighting is the Rapid LED retrofit. I'm only using the 12 "cool white" LED's and not the 12 "Royal Blue", the "Cool white" LED's are approximately at the 6000...
Howdy,
It's been a long time since I've been here posting builds or anything else for that matter.
Some of you may recognize my previous builds as Tim's 54 Gallon Reef, Tim's Biocube 29 Angler Tank, and Tim's MOWLR Build (Peacock Mantis).
Well if you followed my Angler build you...
I've had the Reef Octopus NWB150 6” Pinwheel In Sump Protein Skimmer, since the beginning. I can't compare it with others, as it's the only one I've had, but I think it does a great job. Pulls out a lot of crap. It was very easy to dial in. The only downside was how loud it was initially, but...
When I was doing my initial research a year or so ago, I found quite a few similar stories on various reef forums. I came to unofficially name it SAD (sudden angler death). Many people experienced perceived healthy fish dying out of nowhere. Some guesses were, gluttony, where the food in the gut...
Probably spaghetti worms. A few scattered are normal, but from my understanding if you start to see a ton of them everywhere, chances are you are overfeeding the tank.
Glad to hear the lighting schedule success. I put mine on Natural mode straight out of the box and haven't turned back. The only thing I keep forgetting to do is to turn OFF the silly storms. I turned it on initially just to check it out, for the cool video factor to show off and basically...
I've had plenty of hermits and snails - he never tried to eat them, also had nudibranch, Pom-Pom crabs, and porcelain crabs with no issue.
I would stay away from any shrimp, (fire/skunk/peppermint/sexy, etc), as they would be goners.
