Nice job Mom and Dad - Angel Baby Vide0

There are a few that have viewed my trials and tribulations of my angelfish pair...I decided to stop obsessing and interfering and just let the parents do their thing. I placed a blanket over the tank to reduce stress. And here we are..

And then there were three...Sterbai cory trio

There was a thread about corys recently, discussing the numbers of corys that would be happy and happier together. I gifted my dwarf gourami pair to my girlfriend and her husband, freeing up a bit of space in one of my tanks. So I picked up 2 Sterbai corys to keep my "big guy" happy, as he was...

We haven't gotten this far before

We haven't gotten this far before

We have swimmers!!! I have about 10 swimmers from the last spawn that I pipetted out and out into a Fluval breeding tank. I believe I lost a few to fungus - but I am trying to do everything to keep them alive.

Yes! This time I put the fertilized eggs in a breeding box and hope to have free swimmers tomorrow.

The Anubias Broadleaf and Big Mama

Last week after the wigglers disappeared, I did an overhaul of the tank. Moving the plants and resetting the dragone stone. I gues they liked the location of the Anubias, much better than spawning on the back wall of the tank. She is not impressed with his "cover technique" apparently. (about...

    Fishkeeping Exhaustion

@MooseMama I thought that I would loop back and see how things are going after a few weeks. I have returned to fishkeeping after nearly 3 decades away. I thought that I did a lot of reading, and sought out quality products and stock. However, I had my shortcomings in the last 9-months and I...

    Ssshh…

This is my 2nd Fluval Flex…the spawning angels are in the other. Our local Petco is great about price matching so I ended up getting 30% off. I loved the 1st one so much I replaced my column tank.

    Ssshh…

Thanks, Aiken Drum for asking! A Fluval Flex 15 with a Hygger heater and air stone. I also added an extra set of Hygger lights for the plants. The plants that I have added are java ferns, ludwigia, a cryp tropica, anacharis/elodea, an anubias broad leaf and anubias congensis, along with a...

    Just when you think

Thanks, Aiken Drum! Andy, I certainly had no intention of bragging. Apologies if it sounded that way. After many defeats, I was finally feeling like I was "getting it right" for the fish and it was disappointing to lose this little one. As a newbie,I absolutely consider my knowledge at best...

    Just when you think

Nice fat bellies, algae on the walls of the tank, algae beads and wafers. and Marimo algae balls. The tank is about 4 months old, so still a "baby" tank. With the fat bellies, and good body condition - smooth body, no signs of ich or illness. What are your thoughts about the lil buls? They...

We haven't gotten this far before

After several attempts, we have these handful of wiggler....so I am a little excited. Thanks to a couple of forum members, for their guidance. I will definitely I let my male do "his thing" and then separate him so he doesn't kill her (uggh). A little bit of context, not intending to become a...

    Greetings from NorCal!

Andy, and all, I am amidst another spawn and did remove the algae eater, so the pair has the tank all to themselves. Upon moving the algae eater, on the last spawn the female laid the eggs high up on the tank wall making it difficult for him to fertilize, as a large number of the eggs were...

    Greetings from NorCal!

Thanks, Andy! The pair originally was part of a community tank. Their first spawn, they ate all of the eggs overnight. The 2nd the male fertilized but again, ate the eggs during the night, after protecting for many hours. On the most recent spawn, I had set up a Fluval Flex 15 for the pair...
