Hi, my glofish has a growth by his mouth for a while. Not sure what it is. Can anyone please help? I have the tank for 8 months now. I also have tried Pimafix and API EM Erythromycin and they didn’t work. Thanks!

I’m definitely no fish expert but that may be tumor and there probably isn’t any way to get rid of it. I would recommend separating it in a quarantine tank or something on its own to monitor it and make sure it gets all the food it needs but also so that it doesn’t get hurt by the other fish. If its cancer you still want to keep it separate to make sure it has the best life and to be sure it doesn’t pass away in the tank without you noticing and end up polluting the water killing all of the other glofish. I’m not a vet by any means but this is what I would advise from my fish keeping experience and research. To be honest it’s more likely to be a non cancerous tumor but cancer is a possibility. Feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong.

Thanks so much for your kind reply! I also think my poor green glofish has tumor. This bump started since late Dec 2020. He is doing well and eating well. At this point, i haven’t noticed anything on other fish in the same tank. I just moved all my fish to a bigger tank. I was thinking this might be related to stress or poor water quality. But my tank is tested within the normal readings. I sure hope my green fish is happier in the bigger tank. Thanks!
