Hi

I currently use ro water and keep it in a water container till I’m ready to use it.

Today I find this bug in the water. I’m new to fish keeping and could do with a bit off help on what it is ? Is it dangerous? How to treat it if I need too.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply’s
Iv had a look and it dose look like Hydra.
Iv had a little read and it says that are bad for some fish.
Will my peacock cichlids eat them and be ok ?

It seems that many fish varieties will eat them. Doesn't seem to bother them, as I suspect they curl up tentacles / suck in to itself, and then are eaten.

Definitely does not look like a copepod to me... and I have plenty along with cyclops in my 'pond jar'
I agree with above, looks like Hydra.
Be careful!!
Hydra can cause damage..
I have no knowledge of cichlids though, they may be able to eat them..
I truly have no idea!
Sorry not much help!!
