Unfortunately my artificial reef insert is permanent so no way to remove. I could get to some of them from the top to inject like suggested, but other I need to kill off naturally some how.
I'm starting to get alot of these growing and attaching to my artificial reef. Can someone tell me what they are and if its good/bad to have them in the tank? Thanks!
I have 150 gal reef tank and the red algae is starting to accumulate. I'm pretty sure my phosphates are high so want to reduce that in the tank, I had used the Thrive liquid phosphate remover in the past, but that is no longer available. What do you recommend?
I have a 3 yr old 6 ft tall, 28" diameter acrylic cylinder tank with an artificial reef insert going thru the center (from top to bottom). I have 2 AI LED light banks on the top. Right now I have some fish + inverts, but want to start adding some anemones, coral and frags to give it more color +...
ok, can you recommend a good powerhead for that? The tank is a 27.5 diameter acrylic cylinder, 150 gal. Everything would have to be mounted inside
thanks
I have a 6ft high 150 gal cylinder artificial reef tank that filters to a live rock sump in my basement. I also have a reef octopus skimmer in the sump. The tank has good circulation but the water on the very top is very slimey/bubbly, in fact its almost like oily spots in the water. What can I...
Thanks. So I had originally closed the drain pipe some to raise the water level. Should I open it up all the way now, just a little or leave it same? I just keep lowering the tube into the durso pipe hole until its quiet? I assume I tie the other end first so I can play with it
Thanks. Questions on option 2.
1) So one end of the tubing goes into the hole in the top of durso pipe. Do I push the end of that tubing down until it hits the water (and possibly lower) or is it supposed to stop before hitting water
2)The other end of the tubing that gets zipped tied to the...
I would be fine with that as well... but for some reason closing the valve a bit to get the water level above my durso elbow pipe cause the tank to overflow when I lose power off/on. When power off, the tank drains like what you described yours does. When it comes back on, it must not get the...
Thanks. There is an adjustable valve in the drain (in the sump box). I did play around with it to raise the level some, it worked.. but when I lose power I had issues. I guess the syphon wouldn't take right away when power comes back on (and pump starts) because the tank would overflow. The way...
