    How’s everyone’s tanks doing?

I plan on getting some shrooms and other softies maybe later on I’ll get a stronger light and get some more demanding corals but I like the look of soft corals anyway

What should I be expecting to set up a 10 gallon reef tank?

Pistol shrimp and gobies are fun to watch. But the smaller tank size will make for more maintenance

    Protein skimmer in a refugium

Quick question, I’ve set up a refugium for growing phytoplankton and other live foods for my display tank. I got several clams/mussels on my live rock. My question is will a protein skimmer skim out the phytoplankton if I put it in the refugium or in the display tank

Light requirements for a reef tank

Yes I’m going to focus on low to medium light corals. The way the aquascape is almost all of the coral space will be at the 6inch or less distance from the light. The lower half I want to keep open to max out sand surface space for sand sifters/burrowers

Light requirements for a reef tank

Decided to go with a fluval marine 3.0 paired with the aquasky I had. Will upgrade to a second 3.0 eventually.

    Something stuck in anemone mouth

About 4 months old now. Which is a bit young I know. Also the chunk finally broke apart and floated away. Looks like it was pellet food.

    Something stuck in anemone mouth

Yep going to be heading to Dallas and returning this light and getting a new one sometime within this coming week. I was also considering doing a 10% water change to lower the nitrates more.

    Something stuck in anemone mouth

It looks more like this usualy. I just angled the rock he seems to like so if it is food and is just a bit too heavy a chunk to spit up easily, it should roll off his disk maybe. Also he’s alone on that side of the live rock. He is new to the tank tho. Maybe that’s the source of the stress

    Something stuck in anemone mouth

My first thought was a chunk of fish food. I saw it catch some fish pellets the other day.

    Something stuck in anemone mouth

Noticed this odd chunk of something sticking out of an anemone. Been there a few days. nem doesn’t seem stressed or anything. Took the pic when it was shrunk a bit so I could get a clear shot. It usually has nice filled out look with bubbles extended.

Worm on glass at my lfs

I thought it was a crack in the glass as I was walking up to it. Are flatworms considered a pest? Or not harmful?

Worm on glass at my lfs

    Conch hitch hiker ID

No not really and it doesn’t have the teeth at the entrance either. I’ll try to get a picture of its foot while it’s on the glass tonight

    Conch hitch hiker ID

Hmm by the pictures I don’t know about a cowrie. It doesn’t have the tendrils around it when it’s out and moving around. It’s got a snorkel looking appendage like a nasarius snail and a very long narrow foot
