    Back at it

Welcome back to the fish keeping and to this forum. Please list all of your parameters and as fish wonder stated how long was the aquarium cycled. The information is very critical because if aquarium has not completed it's cycle that will cause fish to refuse food and other issues. :)

    What happened to my Pleco!!!

Also prior to adding the Parrot Cichlid did you quarantine the Cichlid? If you didn't then the Parrot fish could have been carrying parasites.
  9. tlindsey

    What happened to my Pleco!!!

You are probably correct. If the aquarium was not completely dark when you put in the food the Cichlid will definitely locate the food.

    Can anyone identify this?

The only way I can think of is from plants introduced to the aquarium. I know for sure they are found in ponds.

    Can anyone identify this?

Those are Hydra. The aquarium, substrate, ornaments and filter would need to be sterilized. Bleach and part water should get rid of them.

    15 gallon stocking help

I've seen 10 gallons but for me personally it's about dimension's more than anything if the aquarium was a 20 long then I would say doable because if the Rummynose got spooked they would have the length not to swim into the glass side.

Fish pecking at other fish with Ich?

I also had to learn this but never add fish to a aquarium you are treating and the fish being treated is infected. The new fish will get infected quickly if the aquarium is not eradicated. Do you gravel vac during water changes?

    Instant cycle. Please help

Oh ok it won't be a instant cycle but more like a jump start because you won't have the total amount of bacteria to start with so there will be a mini cycle. The bacteria should populate pretty quickly.
