Does anyone have an auto top off system? I am trying to figure out how to get this to work....I just bought/ordered a 90 gal tank from a guy who builds them and my husband thinks the stand pipes with a sump etc is the best way to auto top off....

But this will be a FW planted tank with CO2 injection and I am not sure if that will gas off the CO2 etc.

I keep thinking it would be better just to install a small float inside the main tank and attach it to a small waterline. He is afraid of it failing and flooding the livingroom.

What say you???

There are several auto top off options. Check vendor web sites. You can certainly try a DIY, there plans on sites, but for about $100.00 you can a solution ready to unpack and install. (google "auto top off"..Not responsible for any unexpected results though!!) ; )
