Hey guys, I bought a second hand juwel rio tank about 8 months ago and got three piranhas a month later. My problem is I stupidly didn't research into nitrates properly and I used to do a water change about once a month. my piranhas haven't really grown much in six months because of this. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hey there,

You could try the aq advisor website - seems down at the moment here but you can plug in tank size, filters and fish. Tank size could be an issue if too small. Also you could check the brand of food and make sure high quality / not expired.

Would you have the readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph and if from a liquid based test kit? What are your water changes now?
