I had the same problem with my tubes i got a baby bottle cleaning brush and taped it to a a piece of garden cain and you can then push it straight through the tubes and just watch all the s**t come out. Make sure you do this outside as it will be really messy.
Dont know how you can say that?? Turtles make alot of mess and kick up alot of sand. Filters end up full of it and you cant just use a gravel vac its a real pain
Thanks for replying. I have left the two internal filters in aswell as i thought that would help. How long should it take to mature the new filter? The carbon and biomix was new but the filter sponges have been used an a marine set up but had not been used for a while
I have had my 4ft tank runing for around 6months with two internal filters. I have now purchased a new external filter and set it up on the tank. Will this make my tank cycle again or cause any problems to my fish or turtles? Thanks
We got a bigger tank and put two of our original fish in it, and then we added another two new fish yesterday, and ive caught them a few times doing it, but its not constant. There are no signs of white spot or anything else on them.
Thanks its only been running about 5 days i took a filter from my turtle tank so it was mature and used gravel from another tank aswell but they still seem to be flicking

I just tested for ammo again and its still not changed. I did the last water change about 2 hours ago so i will just have to try again tomorrow and hope it changes soon
I was cleaning the tank every week but as i thought all the flashing was down to flukes i dident do a water change for 12 days why i was doin the med course. I have been doing 50% water changes the last few days. How long after a water change shall i wait before testing it again?
