I recently was given a 46 gallon bowfront tank.
After cleaning it and transporting my fish and a turtle from another tank..
I have a question about lighting. It has a 36 inch lighting fixture on the top that appears to be powering maybe a t8 bulb?
The fixture has an external ballast.
I was considering swapping the bulb for a 36 inch t8 uvb bulb. So it could provide more uvb for the turtle.
Is it okay to do this? Or does this lighting fixture pull perhaps too much power? It's the external ballast that scares me.
